Content License
Welcome to FreePicture! Operated by Creative Union Limit, we provide royalty-free (RF) AI-generated images and media content (collectively referred to as "Content"). By accessing and using Content, or by contributing Content, you agree to comply with our Content License.
What is Royalty-Free (RF) Licensing?
Royalty-Free (RF) licensing is a type of image licensing that allows you to use our Content without paying ongoing royalties or per-use fees after your initial acquisition. However, RF licensing does not mean unrestricted use. Our RF license comes with specific terms and conditions that you must follow.
Unlike Rights Managed (RM) licensing, which typically restricts usage based on time, geography, industry, or usage type, our RF license provides more flexibility while still maintaining important usage restrictions to protect our content creators and ensure fair usage.
What are you allowed to do with Content?
Use Content for personal and commercial projects
You can incorporate our RF content into websites, social media posts, marketing materials, presentations, and other personal or commercial projects.
Use Content without attribution
You are not required to credit the original creator, though attribution is always appreciated.
Modify or adapt Content as part of a larger creative work
You can edit, crop, color adjust, or combine our content with other elements to create derivative works, as long as the result represents a significant creative transformation and isn't merely a slight modification.
What are you NOT allowed to do with Content?
We refer to these as Prohibited Uses which include:
You CANNOT sell or redistribute Content as-is
Redistributing or reselling our images in their original form, either individually or as part of a collection, is strictly prohibited. This includes creating your own stock image site or database using our content.
You CANNOT provide Content for download or redistribution
Even if you make modifications, you cannot allow others to download our content from your website, application, or any other platform. This applies to both original and modified versions.
You CANNOT use Content to create competing services
You may not use our content to create a product or service that competes with FreePicture or Creative Union Limit.
You CANNOT use Content in an immoral or illegal way
This includes content that promotes violence, discrimination, illegal activities, or violates any applicable laws or regulations.
You CANNOT claim Content as your own creation
You may not assert ownership rights over our content, even if modified. All copyright and intellectual property rights remain with Creative Union Limit.
Important RF License Clarifications
Standalone vs. Incorporated Use
Standalone use (where no creative effort has been applied and content remains substantially unchanged) is prohibited. Content must be incorporated into a larger work where it serves a functional purpose within that work.
What constitutes sufficient transformation?
Simple color changes, minor cropping, or adding text overlays do not qualify as substantial transformation. The resulting work must be significantly different in purpose, character, and commercial effect from the original Content.
End product redistribution restrictions
If you incorporate our Content into a product or template that is itself intended for redistribution, you must ensure that the end user cannot extract or reuse the original Content separately from your product.
Premium Assets License
CC0 License for All Assets
The CC0 License applies to all assets available on FreePicture. This means you have maximum flexibility in using our content for both personal and commercial purposes.
Premium PNG Format Benefits
Premium users downloading PNG formats receive the same broad usage rights with the added benefit of high-quality, transparent backgrounds. This makes it easier to integrate images into your designs without additional editing.
Enhanced Quality for Professional Use
Premium assets are optimized for professional applications, providing superior resolution and clarity for print, web, and digital media projects.
Additional Legal Considerations
Please be aware that certain Content may be subject to additional intellectual property rights (such as copyrights, trademarks, design rights), moral rights, proprietary rights, property rights, privacy rights or similar. It is your responsibility to check whether you require the consent of a third party or a license to use Content.
